I wanted to hop on today and tell you guys a little bit about my virtual work based learning experience and all the learning that I've gotten to do in the past year.

It all started with the job Shadow Day last, last spring, with Kaptivate.

I was able to go to the office in Alexandria, Virginia and meet a bunch of the DC Metro employees in addition to the virtual employees in Alabama, Washington State, and Maine.

It was an amazing day and I got to learn all about the projects that Kaptivate was doing.

And I finally got an answer to what Strategic Communications was.

At the end of that day, Jenn Stein, the Program Manager for Work-based Learning at Kaptivate mentioned a summer internship after a week or so I reached out and decided I wanted to learn more about the possibility of working with Kaptivate over the summer, I knew I was going to be virtual.

So I'd let Jenn know about that as I was going to be in New York City, taking some classes with NYU.

I decided to join for the summer after Jenn offered me the position and I was super excited to get to learn more.

During the summer, I had attended my classes at NYU.

In addition to my daily virtual stand ups with Kaptivate, it was here that I was able to feel a part of the community at Kaptivate.

And I felt really embraced by my employer.

I had an amazing time over the summer and when Jenn offered me to continue on during the school year, I decided that that sounded like an amazing idea.

Some of the projects that I was working on over the summer, I was able to see them come to fruition in the fall and I'm continuing to see the amazing work happen.

Now as I continue to college in the fall, I can't wait to see the work that Kaptivate continues to do.

And I'm super excited to see where the company continues to go.

I've had an amazing experience in the last year getting to know incredible people from across the U.S. and form amazing connections with them.
