Kaptivate was contracted by the Technology Transformation Services of the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide management support to the Open Innovation Program, whose primary goal is ”to facilitate the use of crowdsourcing, citizen science, and prize competitions across the federal government."
To achieve this mandate, Kaptivate delivered ongoing support to the GSA’s Open Innovation Program by managing daily operations; providing customer support and capacity building; and developing and executing a strategic public engagement plan that targets outreach to experts, underrepresented communities, and whole ecosystems.
Our outreach on behalf of GSA includes content marketing campaigns (incorporating blogs and vlogs); an array of in-person and hybrid events ranging from quick Lightning Talks to comprehensive Ask Me Anything sessions; e-newsletters to various constituencies; social media campaigns; design and development of websites; and the development and maintenance of Challenge.Gov, the federal government’s open-sourced, online platform for the management and promotion of prize challenges.
During our tenure, Kaptivate has grown the Open Innovation customer base by over 500%. We have also played an instrumental consultative role in landmark prize challenges, and built a public engagement model that has fostered unprecedented citizen and stakeholder participation in federal prize challenges.
